VinyPlus recently welcomed Profine as the eleventh PVC converting company in the VinylPlus Product Label Community. As a result, a total of 128 PVC construction product now carry the certificate that is only reserved for products that are developed and made according to a number of circular principles, among other things.
Two other companies, Epwin Window Systems (System 71-80 and System 90) and Internorm (Spectus Elite, Profile 22 Optima and Swish 24/7), have successfully recertified their profile systems. Thanks to an agreement between VinylPlus® and the Building Research Establishment (BRE), Epwin also obtained the very first double-certificate VinylPlus® Product Label / BES 6001 certification with a single audit. BES 6001, developed and owned by BRE, is a certificate that is only awarded to products for which extraction is done in a socially responsible manner and which must enable companies to reduce their environmental impact through the production chain. The criteria of the label were also integrated into the responsible purchasing chapter of the VinylPlus® Product Label program.
VinylPlus encourages all holders of the VinylPlus® Product Label to communicate transparently about the label’s key sustainability indicators, to architects and other designers, specifiers and so on.
Today, a total of eleven companies hold the VinylPlus® Product Label, good for 128 PVC construction products manufactured at 19 different European production sites. These are Deceuninck, Epwin Window Systems, Finstral, Gealan, Internorm, Profine, Rehau, Salamander, Schüco, VEKA and Verseidag. You can find more information about the certified products here.
